Cloud Armor
theme
Cloud Armor is an original CLO 3D Puffer Jacket Design developed by DA.ALIF, combining contemporary outerwear aesthetics with digital fashion technology. The project explores the relationship between soft volume, protective structure, comfort, and modern Outerwear, translating the visual character of clouds and atmospheric forms into a functional puffer jacket.
Designed and developed digitally in CLO 3D, the project demonstrates my skills in 3D garment design, virtual pattern development, digital draping, garment fitting, fabric simulation, quilting details, and realistic 3D visualization.
my Teacher
His academic guidance and technical feedback supported my development of CLO 3D, digital garment construction, virtual fitting, and 3D fashion visualization skills throughout this project.
This project represents my commitment to digital fashion innovation, combining creativity, technical precision, and 3D garment technology to create modern fashion solutions.

How I Made the Puffer Jacket
The design development began with research into puffer jackets, padded garments, cloud formations, volume, and contemporary outerwear. These references were translated into a wearable jacket concept with a balance between aesthetics and functionality.
I explored the relationship between proportion, padding, seam placement, volume, construction lines, and garment fit to establish the final silhouette.
1. Concept Research
I researched cloud formations and contemporary puffer jackets to understand how soft natural volume and protective outerwear structures could be combined within one garment.
2. Fashion Design
The initial concept was developed through fashion design exploration, focusing on the jacket's silhouette, proportions, panel arrangement, volume, and functional details.
3. Pattern Development
The jacket was developed into digital pattern components, with individual sections created according to the intended silhouette and construction.
4. CLO 3D Development
I used CLO 3D to assemble and develop the digital garment. Virtual sewing, draping, fitting, and adjustment were used to refine the jacket's proportions and overall appearance.
5. Puffer Volume & Quilting
Special attention was given to creating the characteristic padded and dimensional appearance of a puffer jacket. The segmented construction and volume were digitally developed to achieve a realistic outerwear effect.
6. Fabric & Material Simulation
Digital materials were applied to evaluate the garment's surface appearance, volume, softness, and realistic fabric behavior within the CLO 3D environment.
7. Virtual Fitting & Refinement
The garment was virtually fitted and refined to improve its silhouette, proportions, construction, and overall garment balance.
8. Final 3D Visualization
The garment was virtually fitted and refined to improve its silhouette, proportions, construction, and overall garment balance.
With Cloud Armor, my objective was to transform the visual softness of clouds into a contemporary functional garment. The design explores how nature, fashion, technology, and functionality can work together to create a modern outerwear concept. Through CLO 3D, I was able to visualize the garment digitally, refine its construction, and evaluate its overall appearance before physical production.
